May 10th, 2008 – San Diego, California — Entra Health Systems, an international applied healthcare technology company unveiled the new MyGlucoHealth Meter, a fully integrated Bluetooth-enabled portable blood glucose meter at a physician’s forum in San Diego this week. The MyGlucoHealth® meter is the most technically advanced diabetic patient care product on the market today. It features rapid testing results, which are available in 3 seconds, the smallest blood sample size (.3μL) of any meter and automatic coding of test strips.
The MyGlucoHealth meter uses Bluetooth technology to connect to a real-time online data collection network to upload and report blood glucose readings. The meter offers patients the most convenient method to log test results, eliminating the need for old fashioned log books while reducing errors and removing the opportunity for inaccurate or “manufactured” entries.
Using Bluetooth technology, test results stored on the meter are wirelessly transmitted by mobile phone or PC to the MyGlucoHealth Patient Analytics Portal at www.myglucohealth.net or regionalized web sites around world. All data transfers are private and secure. On the MyGlucoHealth Portal, patients, clinicians and caregivers have access to diabetes management tools to support in the treatment and control of diabetes and other associated disorders.
“The MyGlucoHealth Network offers financial benefits to patients, clinicians and payers,” said John Hendel, chairman of Entra Health Systems. “Recent studies demonstrate that diabetics who test regularly cost significantly less to care for than patients than who test infrequently. Those that test infrequently can cost up to 10 times more to care for due to complications, emergency room visits, and hospitalization that many times could be avoided.”
The MyGlucoHealth meter is currently in the final stages of clinical testing in the US for FDA clearance and CE Certification for use in the European Community. Initial product shipments are expected in the first quarter of 2009.
